Hey everyone! Today, I’m sharing an intermediate 6-petal flower pattern with you.
Let’s dive in!
Materials Needed:
– 3mm Natural Twisted Cotton Cord

Setup – Cut 15 pieces of 3mm twisted cotton cord, each approximately 6.5 ft (2 meters) long. After completing this wall hanging, you’ll have 16-20 inches (40-50 cm) hanging below the flower.
Petal 1
- Select the middle left cord as your filler cord and tie a Double Half Hitch Knot (DHHK) moving to the right. Continue with the same filler cord, tying six more DHHKs, working downward and to the right.
- Using the inner left cord as your new filler cord, tie six DHHKs, working downward and to the left.
- Take the four middle cords and tie a Square Knot (SK).
- Below this, tie:
- Two alternating square knots (alt. SKs) under the first SK.
- Three alt. SKs in the next row.
- Two alt. SKs in the third row.
- One alt. SK in the fourth row.
- Using the same filler cords, tie six more DHHKs on both the right and left sides.
- Finally, take the left cord as your filler cord and tie one last DHHK to connect both sides.

Petal 2
- Select the outermost left cord as your filler cord and tie 11 Double Half Hitch Knots (DHHKs), working to the right in a curved shape.
- Skip the first cord on the left, then take the next four cords and tie a Square Knot (SK).
- Tie another SK directly to the right of the first one.
- Below these, tie:
- One alternating square knot (alt. SK) centered between the first two SKs.
- Another SK to the right of it.
- Two alt. SKs below the second row.
- Using the outermost left cord again as your filler cord, tie 10 DHHKs, working to the right in a curved shape.

Petal 3

Using the same method as Petal 2 create another petal on the right side of your work. We will create the top half of the middle of the flower. Using the inside cords as your filler cords tie 3 DHHKs on both sides of your work. Using the same filler cord on the left tie one more DHHK working to the right. Using the filler cord on the right tie one more DHHK working to the left.
Petal 4
Repeat the same steps as Petal 2 to create another petal directly below it. For this petal, start approximately 3 inches (7.5 cm) lower than Petal 2 and work upward.

Petal 5
- Repeat the same steps as Petal 4, but this time, create the petal on the right side of your design.
- This will form the bottom half of the flower’s center.
Connecting the Center:
- Using the left filler cord, tie two Double Half Hitch Knots (DHHKs), working downward and to the right.
- Using the right filler cord, tie two DHHKs, working downward and to the left.
- Using the inner left cord as your filler cord, tie one final DHHK to connect both sides.
Petal 6
Repeat the same steps as Petal 1 to create the final petal.
