COPY CAT RECIPE: PIZZA HUT PAN PIZZA

What’s better than enjoying pizza, watching romcoms, and cozying up by the fire on a Friday night? Unless it involves puppies, nothing comes close! This Copycat Pizza Hut Pan Pizza recipe has been a favorite of mine for years. I first tried it from CD Kitchen about eight years ago, and it’s been a hit ever since. Funny enough, it’s consistently one of my most-viewed posts. People can’t get enough of it—and for good reason! It tastes just like Pizza Hut’s classic personal pan pizzas.

INGREDIENTS

Pizza Dough

  • 1/4 cup non-fat dry milk
  • 1 1/3 cups warm water
  • 1 packet (1/4 oz) dry yeast
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 6 tbsp vegetable oil

Pizza Sauce

  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp marjoram
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

INSTRUCTIONS

Make the Dough

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry milk, yeast, salt, and sugar.
  • Add warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes to activate the yeast.
  • Stir in the vegetable oil.
  • Gradually fold in the flour until the dough comes together. Use your hands for easier mixing.
  • Flour a surface and knead the dough for 5–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Divide the dough into two portions.
  • Pour 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil into each 9-inch cake pan, coating evenly.
  • Roll out the dough and place it in the pans. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour (try placing it in an oven set to 90°F).

Prepare the Sauce

  • In a small bowl, mix the oregano, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, marjoram, salt, and Parmesan cheese into the tomato sauce.
  • Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.

Assemble and Bake

  • Once the dough has risen, spread the sauce over each crust.
  • Add fresh mozzarella and your favorite toppings. Sprinkle a little Italian seasoning for extra flavor.
  • Bake at 400°F for 10 minutes, then increase the temperature to 475°F and bake for another 6 minutes.
  • Avoid getting oil on the crust edges to prevent burning.
  • Let cool slightly, then serve and enjoy!
