Print & Assemble
First, make sure to use Adobe Acrobat Reader to open your PDF sewing patterns—it’s free!
Once you’ve opened your file, check the left side of the screen for the LAYERS icon. Click on it and uncheck all the sizes you won’t need.
Next, click on the PRINT icon at the top of the screen. In the print settings that appear, ensure the ACTUAL SIZE option is selected, then click the PRINT button!
A 5 x 5 cm (or 2 x 2 in) control square is provided so you can verify that your pattern is true to size.
To ASSEMBLE the pattern, cut each sheet along the bottom and right margins as indicated. Each sheet is labeled with a letter and a number (A1, B2, etc.), so tape them together in numerical and alphanumerical order. All sheets in one row will have the same letter, and all sheets in the same column will also share the same letter.
Construction Order
The following points break down all the steps you need to complete this project. Please note that these instructions cover only the basics!
Reminder: Seam allowances are 1 cm wide unless stated otherwise.
- Sew the dart on the front top.
- Attach the back binding to the lower edge of the back (binding turned inside).
- Sew the shoulder seams.
- Apply the neck binding to the neckline (binding turned inside).
- Sew the top side seams.
- Create the ties and attach them to the center back of the top.
- Hem the front pockets (turn once by 2 cm) and attach them to the front legs.
- Sew the side seams and inseams of the pants, leaving an opening above the hip notch on the side where you wish to add the zipper.
- Sew the crotch seam.
- Apply the knitted elastic to the back waist.
- Install the zipper.
- Hem the back waist (turn once by 1 cm).
- Attach the top to the pants at the front waist.
- Hem the bottom of the legs (turn once by 5 cm).
