It all began when 24-year-old advertising student João Paulo Anjos was watching the 2014 VMAs and noticed that Kim Kardashian’s Balmain dress resembled the carpet in his home. In a flash of inspiration, he wrapped himself in the carpet, threw a black cloth over his head, and voilà—the first look was born.
