INGREDIENTS
Maple Brown Sugar Simple Syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 3/4 cup 100% pure maple syrup
Old Fashioned
- 1 1/2 oz bourbon
- 3/4 oz maple brown sugar simple syrup
- 5-6 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 large ice cube
- 1 sprig of rosemary
- 1 orange twist (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
Maple Brown Sugar Simple Syrup
- In a saucepan, combine water, dark brown sugar, and maple syrup.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then remove it from the heat.
- Once the sugar has fully dissolved, transfer the syrup to a jar with a lid and let it cool in the refrigerator.
Old Fashioned
- Place a large ice cube in a whiskey glass.
- Add the Angostura bitters to the glass.
- Pour the maple brown sugar simple syrup and bourbon over the ice, then stir the ingredients together.
- Garnish with a sprig of rosemary and an optional twist of orange. Enjoy!
