When the temperatures soar and the humidity kicks in, there’s nothing better than relaxing by the pool with a refreshing drink in hand. Today, I’m excited to share a simple, delicious, and healthy Watermelon Slushie recipe with you – made with just four ingredients!
Ingredients
- 10 cups Seedless Watermelon Cubes, frozen for at least 24 hours
- 2–4 tbsp Maple Syrup*
- Juice of 1 large Lime
- 1/4 cup Fresh Mint or Basil leaves, loosely packed (optional, but recommended)
- 1 1/2 cups Filtered Water (see notes for a fun substitution!)
Instructions
- Allow the frozen watermelon chunks to sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes to slightly defrost.
- In a high-speed blender, combine the watermelon, 2 tbsp maple syrup, lime juice, mint (if using), and water.
- Pulse the blender until the watermelon begins to break apart, then blend until you achieve a thick, slushie consistency. Taste and adjust the maple syrup, adding more if needed. If the mixture is too thick, add a little more water to reach your desired texture.
- Pour into 4 glasses, serve, and enjoy!
Notes
- If you don’t have a blender with a tamper, a food processor works great for this recipe.
- About half of a medium-to-large seedless watermelon will yield the amount needed for this recipe.
- Adjust the maple syrup based on the sweetness of your watermelon. Start with 2 tbsp and increase by 1 tbsp increments as needed.
- Maple syrup can be swapped for any sweetener of your choice.
- For a fun twist, swap the filtered water for flavored sparkling water!
