Turn a box of brownie mix and cream cheese coated in a chocolate shell into irresistible brownie truffles. This quick and easy recipe creates a delightful treat that’s perfect for satisfying your sweet cravings.
Ingredients
- 18 oz box of brownie mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
- 8 oz cream cheese (at room temperature)
- 3 cups chocolate melting wafers
- Sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- Prepare the brownies in a 9×13 inch pan according to the package instructions. Let them cool completely.
- Scoop out the baked brownies into a large bowl, discarding the firmer edges.
- Add the cream cheese to the brownies and use a hand or stand mixer to beat until smooth and lump-free.
- Roll the brownie mixture into 1 tablespoon-sized balls and arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for 30 minutes or until firm.
- Once the truffles are frozen, melt the chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Using a fork, dip the frozen truffles into the melted chocolate, coating them thoroughly. Tap the fork gently to remove excess chocolate, then return the truffles to the baking sheet. Top immediately with sprinkles.
- Refrigerate the truffles for 15-20 minutes to allow the chocolate coating to set.
Notes
- Store the brownie truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. As they contain cream cheese, they need to be kept cold.
- For longer storage, freeze the truffles for up to two months. Arrange them in a single layer on a parchment-lined tray and freeze until solid. Once frozen, transfer them to a sealed container or zip-top bag. Thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
