CREAMY SHRIMP ALFREDO PASTA

Creamy Shrimp Alfredo Pasta is a beloved restaurant favorite that’s surprisingly simple to prepare at home. With just a few ingredients like cream, Parmesan cheese, shrimp, and butter, you can whip up this delightful dish in under 30 minutes!

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 oz fettuccine or linguine pasta
  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Cook the Pasta:
    • In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the fettuccine or linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Sauté the Shrimp:
    • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  • Make the Alfredo Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
    • Gradually stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth. If the sauce is too thick, you can thin it out with a little pasta water.
  • Combine Everything:
    • Add the cooked pasta and shrimp back into the skillet with the sauce. Toss until the pasta and shrimp are well coated with the creamy Alfredo sauce.
  • Serve:
    • Divide the pasta among plates or bowls. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired.

TIPS

  • For added flavor, consider incorporating some cooked broccoli or spinach into the pasta.
  • You can substitute the shrimp with chicken or keep it vegetarian by using mushrooms instead.
