PUFF PASTRY PIZZA

Flaky, buttery puff pastry meets your favorite pizza toppings in this irresistible puff pastry pizza! Perfect for quick weeknight dinners or crowd-pleasing party appetizers, this easy recipe offers endless possibilities to satisfy your cravings.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed according to package instructions
  • Optional Egg Wash: 1 egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon of water
  • 1/4 cup sauce (tomato, white sauce, pesto, BBQ, etc.)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or preferred cheese (or measure with your heart!)
  • Pizza toppings of your choice (see notes for ideas)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
  • Cut Puff Pastry: Carefully unroll the puff pastry sheet and place it on the prepared baking sheet. Use a paring knife to cut the pastry into 4–16 pieces:
    • Larger Pieces: 4–6 for lunch/dinner servings.
    • Smaller Pieces: 9, 12, or 16 for appetizers or bite-sized snacks.
Leave some space between each piece on the baking sheet.
  • Score the Border (Optional): For a more defined crust, lightly score a 1 cm (1/2 inch) border around the edges of each square without cutting all the way through. Poke holes in the center of each square with a fork.
  • Brush with Egg Wash (Optional): Apply the egg wash over the top of each puff pastry square for a shinier, golden crust.
  • Prebake the Crust: Bake the puff pastry for 8–10 minutes, until it begins to puff up and turn light golden. Remove from the oven.
  • Add Toppings: Gently press down the center of each square, leaving the edges puffed up. Spread sauce over the center, keeping the crust area clean. Top with cheese and your chosen toppings.
  • Bake: Return to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
