Spice Mix Directions:
Combine the following dry spices in a Ziploc bag, vacuum-seal bag, or jar:
- 2 teaspoons dried mustard
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 1/2 teaspoons basil
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Seal and store the spice mix for future use.
Meatloaf Ingredients:
- 1 package Meat Loaf Seasoning Mix (using the spice mix above)
- 2 pounds ground beef or ground turkey
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 slices bread (finely crumbled) or 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup ketchup (for mixing and topping)
Meatloaf Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the Meat Loaf Seasoning Mix, ground beef or turkey, eggs, milk, and bread crumbs (or crumbled bread). Optionally, add 1/2 cup ketchup at this stage for extra flavor and moisture.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a shallow baking pan or 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Spread a layer of ketchup over the top of the loaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Serve hot, making approximately 10 servings, each about 3 ounces.
