These 12-minute teriyaki noodles are the perfect quick and easy stir-fry recipe! A family-friendly favorite that’s sure to please even picky eaters, this dish is both simple and versatile—better than takeout!
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 pound Asian-style noodles (udon, ramen, rice noodles, or lo mein; 8 ounces)
- 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce (or Tamari)
- 3 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 medium cloves garlic, minced
- 1 green onion, diced (optional, for garnish)
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the noodles and cook according to the package instructions. Once done, drain the noodles and rinse them under cold water. Set aside.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and ginger. Whisk to blend, then set aside.
- Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add vegetable oil and swirl to coat the pan. Once the oil is hot, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly to avoid burning, until fragrant and just golden.
- Before adding the sauce to the pan, give it a quick whisk to loosen any sugar that may have settled. Pour the sauce into the skillet while whisking. Simmer for 3-5 minutes, whisking occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
- Once the sauce is thick and bubbly, add the cooked noodles to the pan. Use tongs to gently toss the noodles in the sauce until they are evenly coated.
- Garnish with diced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired. Serve immediately.
