Honey soy chicken and rice makes for a delicious and easy weeknight family dinner. Tender chicken coated in a sweet and sticky sauce with hints of garlic and ginger is paired with rice and broccoli, creating a satisfying one-bowl meal.

INGREDIENTS
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh ginger
- 2 teaspoons chopped garlic
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce (see notes)
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into ½-inch strips
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
For serving
- Cooked rice
- Sesame seeds
- Sliced green onions
- ½ pound cooked broccoli florets (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, honey, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and hot sauce.
- Season the chicken strips with salt and pepper.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken strips and cook until browned on both sides, about 1 minute per side.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken and stir to coat. Simmer uncovered for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
- If using, toss the chicken with the cooked broccoli or serve the broccoli on the side.
- Serve the chicken over rice, garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
