ONE POT GROUND TURKEY PASTA RECIPE

This one-pot ground turkey pasta is a hearty, delicious meal that’s incredibly easy to prepare. Ready in under 40 minutes, most of the cooking time is hands-off! With its flavorful meat sauce and cheesy pasta, this dish is sure to become a family favorite—perfect for adding to your regular dinner rotation.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 1 cup red onion, chopped
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 ounces whole-wheat penne
  • 2 cups chicken broth or vegetable stock
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 5 ounces fresh baby spinach
  • ½ cup fresh basil, chopped (plus extra for garnish)
  • ½ cup shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
  • Optional: grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the ground turkey and cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking it up with a spatula or wooden spoon, until browned.
  • Stir in the red onion, cherry tomatoes, oregano, thyme, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Add the pasta, broth, marinara sauce, and heavy cream to the pan. Stir well and bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Reduce the heat to medium, cover, and let it simmer for 10–12 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked to al dente.
  • Gradually mix in the spinach, allowing it to wilt, then stir in the basil and mozzarella until combined.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with fresh basil and, if desired, a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
