RED LOBSTER CHEDDAR BAY BISCUITS

Red Lobster’s Cheddar Bay Biscuits have become as iconic as the restaurant itself. Picture this: a hot, buttery, garlicky biscuit filled with gooey Cheddar, bursting with flavor, and served right at your table. Now, imagine enjoying them fresh out of the oven in the comfort of your own home.

These copycat biscuits are nearly identical to the restaurant’s famous recipe, baking up to a perfect golden brown with all the buttery, garlicky, cheesy goodness you’d expect. Quick and simple to make, they come together in under 30 minutes—making this irresistible side dish perfect for a cozy night in!

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 tablespoons cold, unsalted butter (cut into cubes) + 2 tablespoons melted butter (separated)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon fine sea salt (plus a pinch)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ⅔ cup freshly grated cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh Italian parsley, minced
  • 1 cup buttermilk

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F and line two sheet pans with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  • Cut the cold butter into small cubes and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and garlic powder. Using a pastry cutter, cut the cold butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs with small pea-sized bits of butter.
  • Stir in the grated cheddar and minced parsley. Then, gently mix in the buttermilk with a sturdy spoon, just until the dough comes together—be careful not to overwork it.
  • Using an ice cream scoop or large spoon, drop heaping spoonfuls of dough (about 2-3 tablespoons) onto the prepared sheet pans, spacing them 2 inches apart. Bake for approximately 13 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Once baked, brush the biscuits with melted butter, then serve and enjoy!
