INGREDIENTS
Simple Syrup Base:
- 3 cups water
- 3 cups sugar
Flavored Syrups:
- Vanilla Syrup:
- 1 cup simple syrup
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- Mocha Syrup:
- 1 cup simple syrup
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- Caramel Macchiato Syrup:
- 1 cup simple syrup
- 1/4 cup dulce de leche
For Each Drink:
- Handful of ice cubes
- 2 espresso shots
- 1/2 cup milk (2%, skim, whole, or non-dairy)

INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Making the Syrups
- In a large pot, bring 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar to a boil. Let it boil for 1 minute, then divide 2 cups of the simple syrup into two heat-safe mason jars (1 cup per jar).
- Stir the cocoa powder into one jar to make mocha syrup and the vanilla extract into another for vanilla syrup.
- With the remaining syrup in the pot, stir in the dulce de leche. If needed, turn the heat back on and stir until fully dissolved. Transfer to a third mason jar.
- Allow all syrups to cool for about 30 minutes before use. Store them in the refrigerator for up to 4 weeks.
Step 2: Making the Iced Coffee
- Brew two shots of espresso using an espresso machine.
- Fill a large glass with ice, then pour in the espresso and milk.
- Stir in 1-2 tablespoons of your chosen syrup. Serve and enjoy!
For an Iced Caramel Macchiato:
- Pour the caramel syrup into the bottom of a glass.
- Add ice, then pour in the milk.
- Slowly pour the espresso over the back of a spoon to create a layered effect. Enjoy!
NOTES
- Experiment with different flavors like mint extract, chocolate syrup, or even a splash of Bailey’s.
- Customize your iced coffee with crushed ice, ice cubes, or large ice blocks.
- If using brewed coffee instead of espresso, allow it to chill for at least an hour before serving.
