I have several 3-drawer storage containers around our home. Sometimes I appreciate being able to see what’s inside, but other times I’d prefer it hidden. So, I found an easy and budget-friendly way to upcycle these drawers, concealing their contents while giving them a stylish refresh.
You’ll need the following supplies:
- Drawer(s) you want to upcycle
- Contact paper of your choice
- Regular paper/butcher
- paper
- pencil
- sissors
- Ruler
- Electrical Tape
- Razor blade
I traced the front of my drawer onto butcher paper to create a pattern.
I measured from the top of the drawer down to the handle, which was about 2 1/2″. Since the lower, indented portion of the drawer required more contact paper than the upper part, I needed to cut my pattern in half to fit each section properly.
I cut my pattern out.
Next, I traced my pattern onto the back of the contact paper and carefully cut it out.
I pulled off the backing and put both 1/2 on the front of the drawer.
I used white electrical tape to cover the seam between the two sections, creating a clean divide. Then, I trimmed any excess contact paper with a razor blade or X-Acto knife for a precise finish.
Here it is, all finished—and I absolutely love how it turned out!
