DEVILED EGGS

Deviled eggs are a classic party appetizer that’s both visually appealing and deliciously satisfying. These bite-sized delights feature hard-boiled eggs that are carefully cut open, the yolks removed, and then mixed with a creamy filling. The resulting mixture is then piped back into the egg whites, creating a delightful contrast of textures and flavors.

Serves: 6

Ingredients:

  • 6 hard-boiled eggs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • Dash of pepper
  • Paprika, for garnish

Directions:

  • Slice the hard-boiled eggs in half lengthwise and carefully remove the yolks.
  • Mash the yolks in a bowl and mix in the mayonnaise. Add the relish, mustard, salt, and pepper, stirring until well combined.
  • Spoon the yolk mixture back into the egg whites.
  • Sprinkle with paprika for garnish.

Tips:

  • For a decorative touch, pipe the yolk mixture into the egg whites using a pastry bag fitted with a decorative tip.
  • To prevent the eggs from wobbling on the plate, slice off a tiny bit from the bottom of the egg whites so they sit flat.
