PIZZA GRILLED CHEESE

This Pizza Grilled Cheese is packed with flavor, combining the comfort of a classic grilled cheese with layers of melty cheese, savory pepperoni, and a crispy garlic butter crust.

INGREDIENTS

Garlic Butter Spread:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

Sandwich Assembly:

  • 8 slices white bread
  • 12 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 6 ounces pepperoni
  • Warm pizza sauce, for dipping

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Prepare the Garlic Butter Spread: In a medium bowl, mix the butter, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning until smooth and well combined.
  • Butter the Bread: Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread. Place the buttered slices face up on a baking sheet until ready to assemble.
  • Assemble the Sandwiches: Heat a skillet over medium-low heat. Place one slice of bread butter-side down into the skillet. Layer with one slice of mozzarella cheese, six slices of pepperoni, another slice of mozzarella, six more pepperoni slices, and a final slice of mozzarella. Top with another slice of bread, butter side up.
  • Cook the Sandwiches: Cover the skillet with a lid to help melt the cheese. Cook for about 3-5 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown. Flip carefully using a spatula, cover again, and cook until the other side is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted. Repeat for the remaining sandwiches.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Serve immediately with warm pizza sauce for dipping.

NOTES

  • Cook in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
  • To keep sandwiches crispy, place finished ones on a wire rack over a baking sheet to prevent them from becoming soggy.
