“MARRY ME” COOKIES

Marry Me Cookies are irresistible homemade treats made with browned butter, packed with oats, chocolate chips, and white chocolate chips. They’re so delicious, they might just inspire a proposal! Even if you’re already married, these cookies are too good to resist!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup (2 sticks / 227 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 ¼ cups (250 g) light brown sugar
  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (256 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (90 g) old-fashioned oats
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup (168 g) white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (168 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

INSTRUCTIONS

  • In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter to brown it. The butter will foam as the water evaporates, and tiny brown specks of milk solids will form at the bottom of the pan. Stir constantly and scrape these specks off the bottom to prevent them from sticking. Once the butter turns a chestnut brown and has a nutty aroma (about 6-7 minutes), remove it from the heat.
  • Stir the brown sugar and granulated sugar into the warm browned butter until smooth and well combined. Let the mixture cool in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
  • While the butter mixture chills, preheat the oven to 325°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Once the butter mixture has cooled slightly, take it out of the fridge and mix in the eggs and vanilla extract.
  • Add the flour, oats, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon, mixing until everything is well combined.
  • Gently fold in the white chocolate chips and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • Using a 2-tablespoon scoop, drop the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing the cookies about 2 inches apart. Lightly press down on each cookie with your hand or the bottom of a glass.
  • Bake for 11-13 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are just beginning to turn golden. Be careful not to overbake. Once done, let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
