Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (low-fat preferred) or Miracle Whip (low-fat preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon grated onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Directions:

  • In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise (or Miracle Whip), vinegar (or lemon juice), grated onion, celery seed, sugar, salt, and pepper.
  • Stir well and let the dressing sit for a few hours, or ideally overnight for the best flavor. (If you’re in a rush, it can still be used after about an hour.)
  • When ready to serve, mix the dressing with 4 cups of shredded cabbage. Keep the dressing and cabbage separate until you’re ready to mix.
