AIR FRYER BAKED POTATOES {THE ULTIMATE GUIDE!}

Air Fryer Baked Potatoes are the perfect combination of crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside—totally delicious and incredibly easy to make. This ultimate guide will help you get the most out of your simple, yet satisfying spuds!

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 Medium baking potatoes (See notes)
  • Oil (Sunflower or olive oil | See notes)
  • Sea salt (Optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preheat your air fryer for 5 minutes.
  • Wash and dry the potatoes.
  • Prick the potatoes all over with a fork.

Option 1: Oil & Salt

  • For extra flavor, rub the potatoes with a little olive or sunflower oil and a pinch of sea salt before cooking.

Option 2: Skewer

  • To speed up cooking, insert a metal skewer through the potatoes. The metal conducts heat, cooking the inside faster.

Option 3: Microwave First

  • If you’re in a rush, microwave the potatoes until they start to soften, then finish them in the air fryer to crisp up. Microwave for 5-8 minutes for 1 potato or 8-10 minutes for 4 potatoes, flipping halfway through. Reduce air fryer time to 15-20 minutes.
❗️Note: Do NOT microwave the potatoes with the metal skewers inside. Add the skewers after microwaving if using.

Option 4: Straight Into the Air Fryer

  • For simplicity, place the potatoes directly into the air fryer and cook them without any extra steps.

Final Step:

  • Cook at 180°C (350°F) for 45-55 minutes, or until cooked through. If your air fryer has a specific setting, feel free to use that.
  • Turn the potatoes over halfway through cooking.
  • Once cooked, remove the skewers (if using) and serve immediately with your favorite toppings.

NOTES

  • Oil: While optional, oil helps the skin crisp up and adds a nice flavor. Choose olive or sunflower oil.
  • Salt: Optional, but adds seasoning to the skin.
  • Nutritional Value: This recipe is based on medium-sized baking potatoes and does not account for any additional oil or salt used.
