Brown Sugar Lemonade combines the zesty brightness of fresh lemons with the rich, caramel sweetness of brown sugar. Ready in under 5 minutes, this refreshing drink offers a delightful depth of flavor, making it a perfect twist on the classic summer beverage.
Ingredients
- 5 cups water
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- ¾ cup brown sugar (light or dark)
Instructions
- Squeeze the lemons by rolling them on the counter while pressing down or microwaving them for 15 seconds to extract more juice.
- In a pitcher, combine 5 cups of water (do not add ice yet).
- Add the fresh lemon juice and brown sugar, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Serve the lemonade over ice.
Notes
- Lemonade Ice Cubes: For a longer-lasting refreshing drink, use lemonade ice cubes instead of regular ice. This keeps the lemonade from getting watered down as the cubes melt.
- Brown Sugar Syrup: Swap out the brown sugar for brown sugar syrup. Use the same ¾ cup amount of syrup but reduce the water to 4 ⅓ cups.
- If you prefer a sweeter drink, add 1 tablespoon of sugar at a time, stirring and tasting as you go.
