HOMEMADE MCGRIDDLE IN UNDER 30 MINUTES (SAUSAGE, EGG, AND CHEESE)

Start your day right with this homemade McGriddle recipe! Featuring two buttery pancake buns, a grilled sausage patty, fluffy folded egg, crispy bacon, and melty cheese, it’s a flavorful and satisfying breakfast that’s easy to make and sure to keep you energized all morning.

INGREDIENTS

Meat Patties:

  • 1 lb. ground breakfast sausage (or 4 sausage patties)
  • Salt and pepper

Omelet:

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup (200ml) whole milk
  • 4 tbsp. softened butter
  • Salt and pepper

Pancakes:

  • 1 ¼ cups (160g) all-purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup (150ml) milk
  • 2 ⅞ tbsp. (40g) melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ½ tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tbsp. maple syrup
  • ½ tsp. salt

Finishing Touches:

  • 6 slices crispy bacon
  • 4 slices American cheese

INSTRUCTIONS

Meat Patties:

  • In a bowl, gently knead the ground sausage with your hands and shape it into 4 patties. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cook the patties in a grill pan over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side.

Omelet:

  • Whisk the eggs in a medium bowl until fully combined, then stir in the milk.
  • Heat butter in a large pan and pour in ¼ of the egg mixture.
  • Cook on low heat until set, sprinkle with salt, then flip and cook for another minute.
  • Fold the omelet into thirds, then shape it into a square. Repeat for the remaining eggs to create 4 omelets.

Pancakes:

  • In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, and salt). Add milk, egg, melted butter, and maple syrup, stirring until the batter is smooth and thick.
  • Heat a non-stick pan with butter, then pour 2-3 tablespoons of batter per pancake. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden. Repeat to make 8 pancakes.
  • Cook the bacon until crispy, either in a pan or using a microwave.

Assembling the McGriddles:

  • Place one pancake on a plate and layer with a slice of American cheese.
  • Add a sausage patty, followed by an omelet and crispy bacon slices.
  • Top with a second pancake. Repeat to assemble 4 McGriddles.
