HOW TO MAKE THE LITTLE CAT AMIGURUMI

HEAD AND BODY (WORKED IN ONE PIECE)

  • Round 1: Start with a magic ring. Crochet 6 single crochets (sc) into the ring. (6 stitches)
  • Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around (increase in every stitch). (12 stitches)
  • Round 3: [1 sc, 2 sc in next stitch] repeat around. (18 stitches)
  • Round 4: [2 sc, 2 sc in next stitch] repeat around. (24 stitches)
  • Rounds 5-10: Sc in each stitch around (24 stitches per round).
  • Round 11: [2 sc, decrease (sc2tog)] repeat around. (18 stitches)
  • Round 12: [1 sc, decrease] repeat around. (12 stitches)
  • Start stuffing the head with fiberfill.
  • Round 13: Decrease around until you have 6 stitches left.
  • Round 14: Without fastening off, continue making the body by increasing the stitch count.
  • Increase back up to 18-24 stitches (similar to the head) and work evenly until you reach the desired body length.
  • Stuff the body before closing it off with decreases.

EARS (MAKE 2)

  • Round 1: Magic ring, 4 sc into the ring.
  • Round 2: [1 sc, 2 sc in next stitch] repeat. (6 stitches)
  • Round 3: Sc around (6 stitches).
  • Fasten off, leaving a long tail to sew the ears onto the head.

LEGS (MAKE 4)

  • Round 1: Magic ring, 6 sc into the ring.
  • Round 2: Sc around (6 stitches).
  • Rounds 3-5: Continue sc in each stitch.
  • Stuff lightly and fasten off, leaving a tail to sew the legs to the body.

TAIL

  • Round 1: Magic ring, 6 sc into the ring.
  • Rounds 2-8: Sc around to create a long thin tail.
  • Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

FACE (OPTIONAL: USE SAFETY EYES OR EMBROIDERY)

  • Insert safety eyes between Rounds 6 and 7 on the head.
  • Embroider the nose and mouth with black yarn or thread. Create a small triangle for the nose and a simple curved line for the mouth.

ASSEMBLY

  • Sew the ears to the top of the head.
  • Sew the legs to the bottom sides of the body.
  • Attach the tail to the back of the body.
  • Adjust and stuff more as needed, then weave in all the yarn ends.
