INGREDIENTS
- 1 pound ground beef
- 8 oz green beans, trimmed and cut in half
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 2 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp canola oil (or another neutral oil with a high smoke point)
For the Marinade
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, finely minced or grated
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp chili garlic sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a bowl, whisk together all marinade ingredients. Add the raw ground beef and pour the marinade over it. Stir well to combine and let it sit for 20 minutes.
- Heat a sauté pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of oil. Cook the green beans, stirring frequently, until they start to blister, about 3-4 minutes. Add ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes, cooking for another 30-60 seconds until fragrant. Remove the green beans from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the ground beef and cook until browned.
- Return the cooked green beans to the pan, stirring to combine with the beef.
- Continue cooking until the excess moisture has evaporated.
