FRIED DOUGH MADE IN 15 MINUTES 

This fried dough brings the nostalgic taste of a country fair straight to your kitchen. Light, crispy, and airy, each bite melts in your mouth. Best of all, this simple recipe comes together in just 15 minutes, making it a quick and delicious treat you can enjoy at home!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 ¾ cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • ⅔ cup milk
  • Powdered sugar, for sprinkling
  • Oil, for frying

INSTRUCTIONS

  • In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  • Add the milk and melted butter, and stir with a fork until combined. Transfer the dough to a board and knead by hand for about 2 minutes.
  • Shape the dough into a ball and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into 8 pieces and roll each one to about ⅜” thick.
  • Heat about 1 inch of oil in a deep pan to 375°F (180°C) over medium heat.
  • Carefully lower the rolled dough into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  • Fry for 1 minute, then flip and cook the other side for another minute.
  • Remove the fried dough and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve immediately and enjoy!

NOTES

Storing and Reheating
To store leftover fried dough, place it in an airtight container. It will stay fresh at room temperature for up to 2 days.
For reheating, place the dough in the oven at 350°F (170°C) for a few minutes until warmed through and crisped up.
