KETO SAUSAGE GRAVY

If you’re a fan of sausage and biscuits, you’ll love this keto sausage gravy recipe. It’s gluten-free and doesn’t require any flour or thickening agents, making it perfect for a low-carb diet. This rich and comforting gravy pairs wonderfully with low-carb biscuits, bread, or even cauliflower mash. Best of all, it only requires 3 simple ingredients and packs in just 1.9 grams of carbs and 15.1 grams of protein!

INGREDIENTS

  • 16 ounces breakfast sausage (in a roll)
  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • ½ cup water (or broth)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Heat a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and break it up with a spoon. Once it starts to brown, reduce the heat to medium.
  • When the sausage is fully browned, remove it from the pan and set it aside.
  • In the same pan, add the cream cheese, heavy cream, pepper, and water. Whisk well to combine. Continue whisking until the cream cheese is fully melted, creating a smooth, creamy gravy.
  • Return the sausage to the creamy mixture and simmer for a few minutes to fully integrate the sausage into the gravy.
  • Remove from heat and serve with low-carb biscuits, eggs, cauliflower mash, or even a savory keto chaffle.

Storage: Store any leftover sausage gravy in an airtight container.

Notes:

  • This recipe results in a thick gravy. You can add more water or beef broth to thin it out, or adjust the sausage amount to suit your preference.
  • For extra heat, consider adding hot pepper flakes or cayenne pepper. There’s no need for additional salt, as the gravy is already well-seasoned.
