AIR FRYER LAVA CAKE

Air Fryer Lava Cake is a decadent treat with a gooey, molten chocolate center that satisfies any chocolate craving. The batter is light and airy, while each bite bursts with rich, chocolatey goodness.

INGREDIEN

  • 3 ounces chocolate pieces
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 large egg white
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon confectioner’s sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Prepare the Ramekins: Lightly coat two 6-ounce ramekins with nonstick cooking spray and set them aside.
  • Melt Chocolate and Butter: In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter and chocolate. Microwave for 60-90 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds until fully melted and smooth.
  • Whisk the Eggs and Sugar: In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole eggs, egg white, and granulated sugar until the mixture becomes frothy and slightly thickened.
  • Combine with Chocolate Mixture: Gently pour the egg and sugar mixture into the melted butter and chocolate, stirring until well combined.
  • Add Flour: Use a spatula to fold the flour into the chocolate mixture, mixing until just incorporated. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Fill Ramekins: Pour the batter evenly into the prepared ramekins.
  • Air Fry: Preheat your air fryer to 370°F (188°C). Air fry the lava cakes for 8-10 minutes, watching carefully to avoid overcooking. The tops should rise and form crispy edges.
  • Cool and Serve: Let the cakes cool for a minute before using a thick dish towel to carefully remove them from the air fryer basket. Run a sharp knife or flat spatula around the edge of the cakes to loosen them, then gently flip the cakes onto serving plates.

NOTES

  • Optional toppings: A dusting of confectioners’ sugar, chocolate or colored sprinkles, chocolate cream, vanilla ice cream, fresh berries with chocolate shavings, peppermint candies, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
  • If you don’t have oven-safe ramekins, silicone baking cups work as a good alternative.
  • Avoid using an electric mixer, as it will deflate the batter and affect the molten center.
  • If you don’t want to use a sharp knife, a butter knife or flat spatula can work well to loosen the cakes from the ramekins.
  • The recipe is based on a Cosori 5.8 qt. air fryer. Cook time may vary depending on the size and wattage of your air fryer, so adjust as necessary.
