HOW TO CREATE A HALLOWEEN POTIONS SCIENCE ACTIVITY

Fill the Mason Jar with Water: Pour water into the mason jars, filling them about one-third to halfway. Avoid filling them too much to prevent spills when the potion starts bubbling.

Add Food Coloring: Add a few drops of food coloring to each jar and stir. Halloween-themed colors like orange, green, and purple work well, but let your kids pick their favorites for a fun, personalized touch.

Prepare the Dry Ice: Using tongs or thick gloves, carefully transfer a piece of dry ice into a separate cup. Never handle dry ice with bare hands, as it can cause frostbite. If young kids are involved, make sure an adult takes care of this step.

Combine the Ingredients: Let older kids pour the dry ice into the mason jar. For younger ones, an adult can help with this part. Placing the jars on a tray is a good idea to catch any stray pieces of ice.

Watch the Magic Unfold: Sit back and enjoy! Kids will love watching their bubbling, smoky potion. This activity is so captivating they might want to repeat it until the dry ice is all used up.
