This ground turkey taco meat is absolutely unbeatable! With two secret ingredients that take the flavor to the next level, you’ll fall in love with this simple yet game-changing way to cook ground turkey.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- 2 teaspoons beef, chicken, or vegetable bouillon
- ½ cup strained tomatoes
Instructions
- Heat a medium or large skillet with a lid over medium heat. Once hot, add the olive oil and swirl to coat the skillet evenly.
- Add the ground turkey to the skillet and sauté until fully cooked.
- Allow the meat to brown slightly, then drain any excess oil and liquid. Use the lid to keep the meat in place as you pour out the liquid.
- Lower the heat to low and stir in the taco seasoning, cumin, bouillon, and strained tomatoes. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Notes
- Use unsalted, unseasoned strained tomatoes for the best flavor. If the label lists salt as an ingredient, skip the fine sea salt in the recipe.
- For a rich flavor, beef bouillon is my top choice, but chicken or vegetable bouillon also work beautifully.
