INSTRUCTIONS
Option 1: How to Roast a Whole Head of Garlic
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- Gently peel the outer skin from the garlic head, keeping the cloves intact in their casings.
- Slice off the top of the garlic head to expose the cloves.
- Place the garlic head in a bread pan and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt if desired, and coat the head evenly.
- Cover the pan with aluminum foil.
- Roast in the oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the garlic is soft, caramelized, and aromatic.
Option 2: How to Roast Garlic in a Foil Pouch in the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- Peel the outer skin from the garlic head, keeping the cloves in their casings.
- Slice off the top of the garlic head to expose the cloves.
- Cut a square of parchment paper and a larger square of foil. Place the parchment on top of the foil.
- Add the garlic head to the center, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt if desired.
- Fold the parchment and foil around the garlic head, crumpling the foil at the top to form a pouch.
- Place the pouch on the middle oven rack and roast for 40-45 minutes until the cloves are tender.
Option 3: How to Roast Individual Garlic Cloves
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Spread the peeled garlic cloves in a single layer in a small, oven-safe ceramic bowl with a lid.
- Drizzle with olive oil and add salt if desired. Cover the bowl with the lid.
- Roast in the oven for 45-50 minutes, until the garlic is golden and tender.
Removing the Roasted Garlic Cloves:
- To remove the roasted garlic cloves, gently squeeze each clove out of its casing. Enjoy!
