INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup ginger root, cut into small pieces (unpeeled)
  • 3 lemons, juiced
  • 1 orange, peeled
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cayenne
  • ½ cup water (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Thoroughly wash the ginger and slice it thinly, leaving the peel on.
  • Combine all ingredients, except the water, in a food processor. Blend on high until the mixture becomes smooth and pureed. If the consistency is too thick, add the water and blend again.
  • Place a cheesecloth-lined colander over a bowl. Pour the ginger puree into the cheesecloth and strain out the liquid.
  • Divide the strained liquid evenly into four shot glasses. Serve immediately or store for later use.

Notes

  • For a twist, substitute water with coconut water.
