CANDIED BACON

Candied bacon is the perfect combination of sweet, salty, smoky, and rich umami, with a satisfyingly crispy-chewy texture. It’s absolutely irresistible and incredibly delicious!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound thick-cut bacon
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • Freshly ground black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Use a mesh baking rack or line a baking pan with foil, spraying it with nonstick spray.
  • Arrange the bacon strips in a single layer on the rack or baking pan. Drizzle the maple syrup over each slice, then sprinkle with brown sugar and a few grinds of black pepper.
  • Bake for about 25 minutes, or until the bacon reaches a crispy texture.
  • Let the candied bacon cool for a few minutes to allow it to firm up.
