This peanut butter banana smoothie bowl is rich, nutty, and has a soft-serve ice cream-like texture! It’s a wholesome option ideal for breakfast, a midday snack, or a light dessert. With only 5 ingredients and ready in just 5 minutes, it’s a quick and delicious treat!
Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas, peeled and frozen
- 2 tbsp creamy peanut butter
- 2 tbsp flaxseed meal (optional)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- 1/4 cup nondairy milk (such as almond or coconut)
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a blender.
- Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust the liquid as needed; using less will result in a thicker smoothie. For an extra creamy texture, use minimal liquid. A high-powered blender (like Vitamix) may not need any liquid at all.
- Pour the smoothie into a bowl, add your preferred toppings, and enjoy with a spoon.
Notes
Use frozen ripe bananas for the best texture. Wait until the bananas are yellow with brown spots, then peel and freeze them in a ziplock bag or container. They’ll stay fresh in the freezer for at least a month.
