GROUND BEEF PASTA CASSEROLE

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 3 cans of diced tomatoes
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • In a large pan, sauté the chopped bell pepper and onion in a little oil until softened.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned and no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in the diced tomatoes, chili powder, sugar, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat and simmer for 3-5 minutes.
  • Add the uncooked macaroni and cover the pan. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the dish and let it melt before serving.
