EASY HOMEMADE PRALINE PECANS

These praline pecans are one of the simplest snacks to prepare and a beloved Southern classic that everyone in the family will enjoy. Keep them in an airtight container for up to two weeks.

INGREDIENTS

  • 12 ounces pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Aluminum foil

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preheat the oven to 250°F.
  • Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and set aside.
  • In a bowl, beat the egg white and water until frothy. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, mix the sugars, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
  • Toss the pecans in the egg white mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.
  • Add the sugar mixture to the pecans and stir until fully coated.
  • Spread the pecans evenly on the foil-lined cookie sheet and bake for 1 hour.
  • Every 15 minutes, remove the pecans from the oven and stir with a silicone spatula.
  • After 1 hour, remove from the oven and let the pecans cool. Serve them at a party, function, or package them up as a gift.
