INGREDIENTS
With Bisquick:
- 4 cups Bisquick mix
- 1 cup Sprite or 7-Up
- 1 cup sour cream (e.g., Daisy Sour Cream)
- ½ cup butter, melted
Without Bisquick:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 6 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup Sprite or 7-Up
- ½ cup butter, melted
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Prepare the Baking Dish: Slice butter into 6–8 pieces and place them in a 9×13-inch glass baking dish. Microwave for 30–60 seconds to melt, then set the dish aside.
- Mix Ingredients
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 4 cups of Bisquick (or substitute mix if not using Bisquick).
- Add 1 cup sour cream in small dollops for even distribution.
- Pour in 1 cup Sprite or 7-Up and stir with a large spoon until combined. The dough will be sticky and slightly clumpy—this is normal!
- Prepare the Dough
- Lightly sprinkle ¼ cup flour onto a clean surface.
- Transfer the sticky dough onto the floured surface and pat it down to about 1-inch thickness. Add a bit of flour on top if needed to reduce stickiness.
- Shape the Biscuits: Use a round cutter to cut out biscuits, or slice the dough into squares using a knife.
- Arrange and Bake
- Place the biscuits in the prepared pan with melted butter. You can typically make 15–18 biscuits, depending on the size.
- Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.
