INGREDIENTS
- 2 (8 oz) blocks Pepper Jack cheese, shredded
- 2-3 jalapeños, diced (adjust for desired heat level)
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- 1½ cups bread crumbs
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Oil for frying
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a bowl, combine the shredded cheese and diced jalapeños.
- Shape the mixture into 1½-inch balls, pressing firmly to compress.
- Arrange the cheese balls on a cookie sheet and freeze for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat your deep fryer to 350°F while the balls are chilling.
- Prepare three separate bowls:
- Bowl 1: Add the flour.
- Bowl 2: Whisk together the egg and milk.
- Bowl 3: Mix the bread crumbs with cayenne pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- Coat each cheese ball by rolling it first in the flour, then dipping it into the egg mixture, and finally covering it with the seasoned bread crumbs.
