The Peach Puff Pastry Bake is a deliciously simple dessert featuring canned peaches, warm spices, and a golden, flaky puff pastry crust. It’s quick to prepare and fills your home with an irresistible aroma as it bakes.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cans (15 ounces each) canned sliced peaches, drained
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed per package instructions
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon water
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- In a 10-inch oven-safe skillet, mix the drained peaches, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch. Set this aside while you prepare the puff pastry.
- Place the puff pastry sheet on a clean surface.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash. Brush the egg wash over the pastry before cutting it. Cut the pastry sheet into 16 equal squares.
- Layer the puff pastry squares over the peaches in an overlapping, circular pattern, starting from the skillet’s edge and working inward until the peaches are mostly covered.
- Bake for 27-30 minutes, until the pastry is golden and puffed and the peach filling is bubbly.
- Allow the dessert to cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Note For best results, brush the egg wash on the puff pastry before cutting it into squares. Avoid brushing the edges to ensure they puff up nicely.
