This melt-in-your-mouth pecan candy is made with just a few simple ingredients: pecans, evaporated milk, sugar, and butter!
Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup pecan pieces
- 1 cup evaporated milk
Instructions
- Cover a large cookie sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
- In a medium-sized saucepan, add the evaporated milk and sugar. Stir continuously as the mixture begins to foam and boil.
- Continue stirring until the mixture thickens and forms small bubbles. If using a candy thermometer, stir until it reaches around 240°F.
- Fold the pecans into the mixture with a rubber spatula until combined.
- Turn off the heat and stir in the butter until fully melted and incorporated, about 3 minutes.
- Using a tablespoon, drop heaping spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared parchment paper, making sure to leave space between each piece of candy.
- If the mixture starts to thicken too much, place the saucepan back on the warm burner (without turning it on) to keep the mixture soft, stirring between scooping.
- Allow the pralines to cool and firm up before serving.
