CHRISTMAS CRACK

Christmas Crack! Irresistibly addictive and utterly delicious—this is a holiday treat you can’t miss!

INGREDIENTS

  • About 40 saltine crackers (enough to fully line your baking sheet)
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup dark or light brown sugar
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (see variations in the summary above)
  • English toffee bits for sprinkling

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet, jelly roll pan, or baking dish with parchment paper (or foil) and arrange the saltine crackers side by side to cover the entire bottom.
  • In a saucepan over medium-high heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it simmer for 3 to 5 minutes. Do not stir, but keep an eye on it to prevent burning.
  • Once ready, pour the caramel mixture evenly over the saltines (you can use a rubber spatula to spread it out), then bake for about 5 minutes.
  • While the saltines bake, gently melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  • Remove the pan from the oven—your caramel should be bubbly. Pour the melted chocolate evenly over the caramel, spreading it out to cover the entire surface. Sprinkle the English toffee bits on top while the chocolate is still soft.
  • Refrigerate for about an hour to allow it to set. Once fully cooled and firm, break it into 2-inch pieces. Store leftovers in an airtight container. Enjoy!
