CHOCOLATE BANANA MUG CAKE

Craving something indulgent? This chocolate banana mug cake is the perfect quick fix. With a blend of mashed banana and gooey chocolate chips, this moist and fluffy treat will satisfy your sweet tooth in no time.

INGREDIENTS 

Filling:

  • ½ banana, mashed
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate chips (optional)

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients:

  • 7 tablespoons whole wheat flour
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt

Garnish:

  • 2 slices banana

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Mash the banana and mix in the chocolate chips, if using.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, oil, honey, milk, and vanilla extract.
  • In another small bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until well combined.
  • Grease two small mugs and fill them halfway with the chocolate batter.
  • Spoon the banana filling into the center of each mug, then top with the remaining chocolate batter.
  • Garnish with banana slices.
  • Microwave on high for 1 minute 10 seconds to 1 minute 25 seconds, or bake in a preheated 350°F (180°C) oven for 13-15 minutes.
