NESTLE TOLL HOUSE CHOCOLATE CHIP PIE

This simple and delicious recipe is best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It’s reminiscent of Bayhill’s Chocolate Pecan Pie—so tasty! This treat comes from the Nestle Best-Loved Recipe book and bears a close resemblance to a dessert I adore from one of my favorite tea rooms in Bksf, CA.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch deep dish pie pastry
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup Nestle semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (or your preferred nuts)

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  • In a large mixer bowl, beat the eggs on high speed until foamy.
  • Add the flour, granulated sugar, and brown sugar, and continue beating.
  • Beat in the softened butter until fully combined.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts.
  • Pour the mixture into the unbaked pie shell.
  • Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a knife inserted halfway between the outer edge and center comes out clean.
  • Let cool on a wire rack.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
