MCCORMICK’S MEATLOAF SEASONING MIX

Spice Mix Directions:

Combine the following dry spices in a Ziploc bag, vacuum-seal bag, or jar:

  • 2 teaspoons dried mustard
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons basil
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Seal and store the spice mix for future use.

    Meatloaf Ingredients:

    • 1 package Meat Loaf Seasoning Mix (using the spice mix above)
    • 2 pounds ground beef or ground turkey
    • 2 eggs
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 2 slices bread (finely crumbled) or 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
    • 1/2 cup ketchup (for mixing and topping)

    Meatloaf Directions:

    1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
    2. In a large bowl, combine the Meat Loaf Seasoning Mix, ground beef or turkey, eggs, milk, and bread crumbs (or crumbled bread). Optionally, add 1/2 cup ketchup at this stage for extra flavor and moisture.
    3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a shallow baking pan or 9×5-inch loaf pan.
    4. Spread a layer of ketchup over the top of the loaf.
    5. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
    6. Serve hot, making approximately 10 servings, each about 3 ounces.
