Broken Lasagna Pasta with Meat Sauce! An easy, no-fuss way to enjoy lasagna without the hassle of layering. Perfect for busy nights—and even teens can make it! Enjoy!
INGREDIENTS
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 lb. sweet Italian sausage
- 1 (15.5 oz.) can tomato sauce or marinara sauce (add more if needed)
- 1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes (I used fire-roasted for a smoky touch)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 lb. curly lasagna noodles, broken into 2-inch pieces
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS
- Heat olive oil in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for 3-4 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add ground beef and sweet Italian sausage, breaking them up as they cook. Cook until browned (about 6-8 minutes), then drain excess fat.
- Stir in tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, sugar, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 25-30 minutes. Taste and season with salt and pepper.
- Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the broken lasagna noodles a handful at a time and cook until al dente (about 10 minutes), stirring occasionally.
- Once the pasta is cooked, add it directly into the sauce and toss everything together.
- Garnish with fresh basil, serve, and enjoy!
So easy and perfect for a cozy meal—especially if you want lasagna flavors without all the layering!
