INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups pecan halves
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/3 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons real maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with a Silpat mat or aluminum foil, and lightly spray the foil with nonstick cooking spray.
- Spread the pecans on the baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 10 minutes, stirring every 3–4 minutes, until fragrant.
- In a large metal or glass bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, and salt.
- Once the pecans are toasted, remove them from the oven and transfer them into the bowl with the sugar mixture. Stir to coat the nuts evenly.
- Return the coated pecans to the lined baking sheet, spreading them in a single layer. Bake for another 10 minutes, stirring every 3–4 minutes.
- After baking, remove the pecans from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet.
- Once cooled, break apart or coarsely chop the nuts. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
