DIY GALAXY ORNAMENTS

Who’s excited for a quick and easy craft that kids will adore? If you have little ones who are fascinated by all things celestial or scientific, creating their very own galaxy is going to be a blast!

We drew inspiration from Galaxy Watercolor wedding invitations, featuring enchanting swirls of whimsical purples, blues, and pinks, all sprinkled with glitter. These designs transport you to a world of imagination and wonder!

Supplies

  • Clear plastic ornaments (or any container of your choice)
  • Cotton balls
  • Food dye (2-3 colors)
  • Glitter
  • Water
  • Glue

DIRECTION

Step 1: This is a layering game, so each step involves adding small amounts of ingredients. Begin with water and add two drops of your first color.

Step 2: Add enough cotton balls to create a filled layer. For this size, we used about 4-5 cotton balls.

Step 3: Take your second color and add 2-3 drops over the cotton balls. Aim for the drops to land in the center and on the sides so the color can spread out beautifully.

Step 4: Add your glitter.

Step 5: Repeat steps 1-4 to continue layering your ingredients. Keep adding water, cotton balls, and colors for a vibrant galaxy effect!

We suggest gluing the top on to avoid unwanted spills.

Enjoy your new mini galaxy! Experiment with different containers to create a fun desktop galaxy or a charming addition to your home decor.
