AIR FRYER PASTA CHIPS RECIPE

This Air Fryer pasta chips recipe is incredibly versatile and pairs wonderfully with a variety of dipping sauces. I highly recommend this creamy, garlicky homemade Chipotle dipping sauce. It packs just the right amount of chipotle heat and complements sides like Air Fryer French fries and Homemade Crispy Chicken Nuggets perfectly.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups cooked pasta of your choice (I used Barilla Rigatoni)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Cook the pasta: Prepare your pasta according to the package instructions. I cooked mine for 12 minutes to achieve an authentic “al dente” texture.
  • Drain and season: Drain the pasta and transfer it to a large bowl. Add olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, dried oregano, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine evenly.
  • Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (198°C) for 2 minutes.
  • Air fry: Add the seasoned pasta to the air fryer basket/tray, spreading it out in an even layer. Air fry at 390°F for 6 minutes.
  • Mix and check: Open the air fryer, stir or shake the pasta, and cook for an additional 1-3 minutes until the pasta chips are golden and crispy.
  • Serve: Enjoy the crispy air-fried pasta with your favorite dipping sauce, such as homemade Chipotle sauce.

NOTES

Tips for the Best Crispy Pasta Chips

  • Cook pasta al dente: Be sure to cook your pasta firm to the bite, as it will continue to cook in the air fryer.
  • Uniform size: Ensure that the pasta pieces are roughly the same size for even cooking and optimal crunch.
  • Pasta shape: Any pasta shape works, from rotini to penne, farfalle to rigatoni. You can even cut lasagna sheets into triangles.
  • Flavor variations: Experiment with different herbs and spices before air frying to create unique flavor profiles.

Help! My Air Fryer Pasta Chips Are Too Hard!

  • Air-fried pasta chips can get too crunchy if left too long in the fryer. Keep an eye on them as they cook to avoid over-crisping. Adjust the cooking time to your preferred level of crunch.
