For a quick and tasty treat, try this simple recipe for Air Fryer Bananas! Sweet bananas are coated in sugar and cinnamon, then caramelized to perfection with a golden, crispy crust reminiscent of a healthy Bananas Foster. This delightful snack is vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Prep the Bananas: Peel the bananas and place them on a cutting board. Slice each banana in half, then cut each half lengthwise.
  • Prepare the Coating: In a small bowl, mix together the coconut oil, coconut sugar, and cinnamon until well combined.
  • Coat the Bananas: Place the banana slices in a bowl and drizzle the coconut oil mixture over them. Gently toss to coat, or use a pastry brush for a more even application.
  • Prepare the Air Fryer: Line the bottom of your air fryer basket with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Poke a few holes in the lining to allow air circulation.
  • Cook the Bananas: Arrange the coated banana slices in a single layer on the prepared liner. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
  • Flip and Finish: Turn the bananas over and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes, or until they are caramelized and golden brown.
  • Serve: Serve the bananas warm, plain, or topped with ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.

NOTES

  • This recipe can be easily scaled up for larger servings.
  • Air-fried bananas taste best when served immediately after cooking.
  • If you’re not vegan or dairy-free, you can substitute melted butter or ghee for the coconut oil.
