INGREDIENTS
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
INSTRUCTIONS
- Prep the Bananas: Peel the bananas and place them on a cutting board. Slice each banana in half, then cut each half lengthwise.
- Prepare the Coating: In a small bowl, mix together the coconut oil, coconut sugar, and cinnamon until well combined.
- Coat the Bananas: Place the banana slices in a bowl and drizzle the coconut oil mixture over them. Gently toss to coat, or use a pastry brush for a more even application.
- Prepare the Air Fryer: Line the bottom of your air fryer basket with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Poke a few holes in the lining to allow air circulation.
- Cook the Bananas: Arrange the coated banana slices in a single layer on the prepared liner. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
- Flip and Finish: Turn the bananas over and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes, or until they are caramelized and golden brown.
- Serve: Serve the bananas warm, plain, or topped with ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
NOTES
- This recipe can be easily scaled up for larger servings.
- Air-fried bananas taste best when served immediately after cooking.
- If you’re not vegan or dairy-free, you can substitute melted butter or ghee for the coconut oil.
